Unseen Guest Ministry

Our mission

Our mission is to love and serve God and to share the love of Christ with others. We do so through worship, fellowship, Christian education, and outreach to mission work at home and abroad.

How we began

Episcopalians who resided on the Isle of Hope kept a mission in operation starting before 1859.

With the dedication of members like Charles S. Hardee and Anna Elizabeth Roberts (and more recent members), the mission became a parish in 1954.

Who we are

We are an active congregation, with members from all age groups and backgrounds.

The buildings

Services were held in the Methodist Episcopal "union" Church until the present chapel was built in 1923 on land donated by Maria Henderson.

The main church was built in 1964.  A new parish hall was built and the old parish hall renovated to house our Christian education classes and nursery in 1995. The interior of the main church was beautifully redecorated in 2000.

The Chapel is still used for daily Morning Prayer, Healing Services on Wednesday mornings, Children's Chapel on Sundays and for other special programs and occasions.
